Regional NSW will benefit from $150 million in the new round of Fixing Country Roads grants to upgrade regional roads, bridges and truck washes. The member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey MP, said the NSW Government is delivering better, safer road infrastructure across the state.
"Today we are opening the next round of Fixing Country Roads, a program created in 2015 by the NSW Government." Mrs Pavey said. "We've already delivered 302 projects, which support our freight industry by improving the connectivity of local roads, reducing the costs to business and driving economic growth."
Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Roads and Infrastructure, Chris Gulaptis, encourages councils to submit an application for a share of the funding. "This is a great opportunity for our regional councils to deliver key, large-scale projects." said Mr Gulaptis. "Councils can submit a standalone application or partner with other local government areas on projects that could help improve the efficiency of regional freight.
The 2019 instalment is part of the $543 million in the NSW Governments's Fixing Country Roads program. Applications are open until 10 October 2019.
