The Annual Comboyne Show has been an outstanding success, with visitors to the plateau coming from afar!

This amazing show is due to the commitment and hard work of the many volunteers that make it happen.

Here are some of the accolades we wish to pass on:

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped in any way at the Comboyne Show and the days leading up to from setup to pulldown. So many people gave their time and effort to make our Show a success even when the weather looked like it might really put a “damper” on it. A real team effort. An enormous thank you to Marion for her organisational skills.

I’d like to add that it was great to see an increase in competitors for the Junior categories– they are the future of our Show.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, the cooks and the bakers. We had some new faces too. The Luncheon Pavilion worked very smoothly and Thank Heavens for all the donations of cakes and slices. We had almost run out by Saturday afternoon so some of our hard working

volunteers went home at the end of the day and baked more scones and cakes, ready for Sunday’s onslaught and to put in another full day. Congratulations to all the Pavilion volunteers for ensuring the smooth running of their sections and of course, congratulations to all the competitors.

The 83rd Comboyne Show-what a milestone! I woke this morning (Monday) with the same sound as Saturday and Sunday-rain on our tin roof! I was hoping all our volunteers got to have a little sleep in. My THANKS to all volunteers for the whole show. The team standing out in all weathers in the ring from Judges- Stewards and helpers both Saturday and Sunday-

sometimes we ask a lot but they all step up and cope with our weather, from rain to cold and no sun this weekend. Saturday Brad Adams -Heavy Horse and Harness Ponies

were down on numbers but great attraction -thanks Brad. The Mate McMillian Challenge -numbers were small but great horsemanship displayed. Sunday-Equestrian and Jumping events had huge entries with horses everywhere, we were so happy with the turn

out. Thanks again to all VOLUNTEERS and SPONSORS. Hopefully we’ve reached our target of $7,000.00 to cover our insurance for the year.

Vickie Fisher.
